Gym sessions for rehab

🏋️‍♀️ Did you know your rehab exercises can be even more effective with guidance?

One of our runners recently found that even with a detailed exercise plan — complete with sets, reps, and video links — something still didn’t feel quite right. Once we worked through the exercises together, a few small technique tweaks made a big difference to how each movement felt and how quickly things improved.

It got us thinking — even the best home exercise plans can be taken further with guided sessions.

That’s where our guided rehab sessions come in. We’ll work through your exercises with you, step by step, either here at the clinic or in a fully equipped gym just across the road.

At the clinic:

We’ll check your technique, adjust where needed, and make sure each movement is safe and effective.

In the gym across the road:

For a change of space, we can guide a full session, keeping your rehab structured, supported, and motivating.

Why guided sessions help

Technique matters: Even with video instructions, having a physio watch and correct your form ensures each exercise works as intended.

Stay consistent: It’s easy to lose momentum — guided sessions give you structure and accountability to stay on track.

Progress with confidence: Step by step, we’ll adjust your programme safely as you get stronger, whether it’s calf raises, glute bridges, or mobility work.

Research shows that physiotherapist-led exercise sessions improve confidence, adherence, and recovery outcomes compared to unsupervised home exercise (J Physiother. 2020;66(4):250–258).

These sessions are suitable for all levels — whether you’re easing back into running, returning to sport, or building everyday strength and mobility. With guidance from your physio, your exercises become more than a checklist — they become a confident roadmap to recovery.
