Frequently Asked Questions
How can physiotherapy help me?
Physiotherapy can help reduce pain and restore your movement and function to get you back into the things you want to do. We do this by using a comprehensive knowledge of the body’s anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and pathological processes and combining it with our extensive clinical reasoning skills and expertise.
Do I need a GP referral for physio?
No need, you can come directly to us and we can arrange all the paperwork including ACC claims.
Urban Athlete is an ACC accredited clinic meaning we only provide services set to the highest standards.
How much will it cost?
ACC: $37 per session
Private: $69 per session
1 hour: $75
45 min: $60
30 min: $45
Initial 1 hour appointment and 30 min follow up: $275
What should I expect on my first treatment?
Don’t be scared, but we’ll ask a lot of questions as we really like getting to the underlying cause of your injury and symptoms. We’ll test you out to figure out what’s wrong and then give you a detailed explanation of our findings and come up with a tailored treatment plan to get you going again.
How long will my appointment take?
Initial and follow up appointments will be 30 minutes long, we don’t like to rush you through! Specialist services like Muscle Balance Assessments may take up to 60 minutes.
How many appointments will I need?
We’ll chat through this once we’ve assessed what’s going on and severity of your injury, some injuries need just a few appointments where others might need a bit more rehabilitation work.
What hours are you open?
We’re open Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm.
What should I wear at physio?
This depends on your injury site, quite often we need to get to the muscles, so shorts and singlets are the norm, however we have a wonderful fashionable array of clothing we can provide for you onsite.
